  1. Transforming justice
  2. Lived Experience Panel

Lived Experience Panel

People who have lived experience of the justice system often have ideas about how things need to change. Vacro invites people with lived experience to help us make decisions about our programs, research, and advocacy. The Lived Experience Panel will help us to find the right people.

Our definition of lived experience: people who are or who have been in sentenced custody, remanded custody, or on a community corrections order, and members of their family.

The Lived Experience Panel seeks people who:

  • Are passionate about sharing their experiences with purpose.

  • Want to contribute their voice to the work we do to see change in the criminal justice system.

  • Want to collaborate with others with lived experience or those working in the sector.

  • Are interested in learning new skills.

The Panel is currently full, and we are not accepting applications. However, if you are interested in participating, watch this space for future intakes.

In the meantime, check out these FAQs to learn more about our Lived Experience Panel.

Vacro acknowledges the First Nations people of Australia and pay our respect to Elders past and present. We acknowledge the unbroken spiritual and cultural connections of the First Nations People of Australia to their lands. Vacro also supports the Treaty process of acknowledging that lands were never ceded.

Vacro, as a leading voice in the reintegration field, also acknowledges that First Nations people across all jurisdictions are significantly impacted by justice systems as a direct result of colonisation.
